We are honoured and delighted to be awarded the Schweighofer Prize. The prize has a lot of prestige and it’s a major seal of approval for our innovative technology. It confirms that we’ve been on the right path and gives a big boost to our motivation for the future, said Stefan Krestel of Kielsteg GmbH at the award ceremony yesterday in Vienna’s City Hall. The Schweighofer Prize is awarded for innovative ideas, technologies, products and services in the European forestry and wood industries. It has been awarded every two years since 2003. Kulmer-Holzleimbau GmbH, a manufacturer of wooden construction elements, was a development partner of Kielsteg GmbH and became the first licensee. The company invested around 7 million euros in the automated Kielsteg production plant in the crisis years 2010 and 2011, creating new long-term jobs.
